I like to believe that people in the longrun are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I thinkthat people want peace so much that one of these days governments had betterget out of the way and let them have it.

There cannot be true democracy unless women's voices are heard. There cannot be true democracy unless women are given the opportunity to take responsibility for their own lives. There cannot be true democracy unless all citizens are able to participate fully in the lives of their country. [July 11, 1997]

It just seems clear to me that as long as we are all here, it's pretty clear that the struggle is to share the planet, rather than divide it.
